  Teetering on the edge of an episode. Have you found a way to prevent it/slow the onset down that works for you?

  Does anyone else find that your more inclined to want the things that will most likely hinder you most when you’re in a specific mood/episode?

  For instance, I find I constantly crave coffee during a hypomanic episode and alcohol during a bout of depression. Any other examples that you yourself experience?

  What are you proudest of achieving despite your illness?

  Plenty of people say they can’t succeed because the have a mental illness. What’s the thing that you thought your illness would get in the way of but you managed to achieve anyway?

  What do you use to keep you feeling ‘normal’?

  Do you have anything that keeps you calm when you’re starting to feel symptoms? Anything at all: a pet, a dvd, anything.

  Out of control appetite

  I know it’s a horrible thing to do, but I’ve taken myself off my meds so I can lose weight. The side effects are slowing down any progress I was making and I can’t take it any more.

  Yeah I’m on meds: Did your meds make you feel better though? It’s important for you to do what makes you feel best, after all, that’s what your life should be about. If weight loss is your concern and you’re adamant that you’re not going to take them again until you’ve lost weight then I suggest you look into some alternative therapies, maybe just a counselor who can help you if you start experiencing symptoms again. Just remember that the most important thing is to stay healthy and no matter what your, weight you’re beautiful.
